David
Elaturoti takes interest in community life development. In his home town,
Esa-Odo, he worked with other citizens to established unions such as Students
Union, Esa-Odo United Society that worked towards providing educational and
healthcare institutions for the people. He has also served as Chairman of a
Central Working Committee that rebuilt the Oba's Palace, recognises and honour
deserving citizens and foster unity among his people for the peace and progress
of his home town. He has served as Chairman of Community Grammar School Board of
Governors. At the state level, he once served as a member of the Oyo State
Library Board (1988 - 1991) where he used his expertise to provide library
services to the people. At the national level, he has been appointed a member of
the Committee on Learning Centres established by the Education Tax Fund (ETF)
from February 2000. He chaired the Library Sub-Committee of that Body.
At
the Professional Association Level, David has served the Nigerian
Library Association, Nigerian
School Library Association, International Association of School
Librarianship in various capacities
as State Chairman, Executive Secretary, Member of Council,
Editor-in-Chief and Regional Director
within the 26 years of professional career in Librarianship. He was an
erstwhile member of Rotary Club of Ibadan, Agbowo, District 9130.
David is a devout Christian and has
served as Deacon in his local church,
Bodija Estate Baptist Church, since
November 1994. He attended the Haggai Institute Leadership Training
Course in August, 1997 at Singapore.
He is happily married to Julie and has four
children.
